Our cake appeal
Our May Cake Appeal, raised over £1300 – thank you so much to everyone who supported it, what a wonderful result!
It enabled us to send most* of the people we visit in their own homes a special cake treat in early May, with online baker Meg Rivers agreeing to discount their rate to bake and despatch some gorgeous lemon drizzle tray bakes. Enough for one a day for a week.
*cake wasn’t always a possible treat for health reasons, so a small balance went to residents at two care homes we visit and who support us.
Our ‘Wag thinking of you’ postcard went to almost 2500 friends across the region, at home or in care and they loved it! We wanted to make sure they realised why we weren’t visiting and they didn’t think we’d forgotten them.
Here’s our friend Sheila, 92, delighted with her cake and below are just a sample of the many lovely responses we’ve had from everyone…
