We’ve just completed our financial year 2017/18, our second operating year and we thought we’d share our ‘Year in Review’, celebrating some really great developments for Wag & Company.
We've grown ahead of targets, enabling us to develop our Elderly at Home service right across the region, we're making new relationships and receiving more support from people and businesses who believe what we do is important. We are also constantly receiving lovely feedback and stories from the visits that our Visiting Wag Teams are making every week. Take a moment to read through our highlights and if you're already a Wag supporter, thank you, you are playing an important part in making this happen.
How's it going?
We ended the year to end March 2018 with 180 Visiting Wag Teams visiting the elderly across our region. We had another 60 in the pipeline going through our recruitment and assessment processes who will also be making people smile very soon. To date, our volunteers have made 18,349 visits to elderly friends and 1,437 North East people are benefiting. Wow. Amazing. No room for complacency though, many more people are waiting.
As you can see we have also managed to cover our costs and comfortingly have a bit put by. Our costs are kept at a manageable level because our corporate partners and supporters help us by providing professional services or facilities free of charge. It wouldn't be possible without them and all the people who also put themselves out to support us.
