Welcoming Dr Tim Nuttall

Published: 9th August 2019

We’ve very sad to be losing Tim Dobbins from Moorview Referrals as our Chief Veterinary Advisor. Tim has been a wonderful friend to Wag & Company since the beginning but professional and personal commitments have meant the time has come to hand over the baton. In his place, we’re absolutely delighted to welcome Dr Tim Nuttall to Wag and Company; coincidentally another Tim!

Tim is Head of Dermatology and a Senior Lecturer in Small Animal Veterinary Dermatology at The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies. Tim already works in the community, helping to supervise the Edinburgh student-led All4Paws team providing veterinary care for homeless and vulnerable pet owners. In 2014 he received the BSAVA Woodrow Award for contributions to the advancement of small animal medicine.

Tim is very keen to get involved in supporting our work. From personal and professional experiences he knows how important dogs are and how losing a dog can be emotionally devastating and lead to social isolation. Tim said:- "The work of Wag & Company is hugely important and I'm looking forward to helping to provide safe and effective canine company for the elderly and the vulnerable." Tim loves cycling, single malt whisky and climbing in the Scottish mountains; in fact he's also a 'Compleatist' which, for the Sasanachs amongst us, mean he is one of a relatively small group of people who have bagged all 282 Scottish Munros (mountains over 3,000 feet). Welcome Tim, thank you for this precious gift of your skills and expertise for the elderly of the North East..
